Holy Smoked Paprika, Batman!!

A thoughtful friend gifted me a can of Spanish Smoked Paprika for my birthday after reading how deprived I was feeling.

Now, I can't wait to try it!!

Please, can you help me remember all those fabulous recipes using Smoked Paprika?

Hi Vicki!

Oh, you're going to LOVE it! Try Susan V's Ribz (recipe is on her site as well as everyday dish), my steamed sausages or pumpkin hummus. Other great places to use it are: dips and spreads, veggie burgers, seitan, chili, tofu scrambles, potato salad... Really any recipe where you want a little hit of smokiness.

smoked paprika is so wonderful. I was just raving about it last night. Use it sparingly though, it can pack a real punch!

Oh yum. I'd like to bathe in it. But then I wouldn't have any friends!'

I'll email you my smoked paprika hummus recipe.

I think the herb scalloped potatoes from Veganomicon use it. Have fun on your recipe hunt!

I've seen a few recipes that sounded interesting and they called for smoked paprika, but do you think I can remember what the recipes were or where I saw them? I looked for smoked paprika around the regular grocery stores I frequent and the bulk store where I find a lot of neat things, but haven't been lucky enough to find this yet. I'll have to hit a specialty store.
Let us know what you make with it!

Hey Vicki!
I just wanted to tell you I love your blog and website and have been reading for several years now. I am mostly vegan, completely vegetarian- have been for about 15 years and a few months ago I started writing a blog. I was wondering if you would a) add me to your blog roll? and b) give me some feedback on my blog, if you have time?

Thanks!
Crystal from chances are i'm going to hell for this...

I never "got" paprika. maybe if i made a dish it centers around, i'd understand. so i'll ready what others suggested.

I just bought the same, so I'm interested to see what recipes people give you and what you try and like!

I like the idea of UV's hummus recipe!

Lucky! I keep telling myself that once my cheap spices are gone, I'm going to buy good ones. The first on my list is smoked paprika!

Hmm... I think the Fat Free Vegan Kitchen blog has a lot of recipes using smoked paprika.

Also, about your question below pertaining to Oprah. I think she'll hold out for a month, but will quit after that. If you go to her website, you can read her blog where she talks about her cleanse. From the descriptions of the food she was eating, I didn't find it sounded particularly tasty, so looks like she could use your recommendations!

Oh good, I bought some too and now I can't remember what to do with it.

hello Vicki!
I live in Spain, in Extremadura, the state where this paprika is made. I use it very much. If you look for recipes, in my blog you have several. You look for the word 'pimentón' in the search.
If you do not understand Spanish, I recommend you this translator:
